The disciplic succession means the hearing process. It is a descending order. The māyāvādīs, speculators, never hear. They never come under this śrotra-paramparyā, this hearing process in disciplic succession. They want to understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead by their speculation, with their own mundane scholarship and knowledge, but they cannot. The Supreme Personality of Godhead is only understood by the descending process, the hearing process. Śrotra-paramparyā is recommended.
