Gour Govinda Swami: Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is Krishna Himself; He is not different from Krishna. Krishna is Supreme Personality of Godhead, Bhagavan Svayam. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is also Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Gour Govinda Swami: Krishna came 5000 years ago, just last yuga Dvapara Yuga, He is Lila Purushottama, He manifested varieties of lilas here, in this material world, and at last, in his Kurukshetra Lila, he became Parthasarathi, the chariot driver of Partha, that is Arjuna, who was his very dear devotee.

Gour Govinda Swami: He, in his Kurukshetra Lila, He gave His message, in the form of Bhagavad Gita. This is message for whole mankind.

Gour Govinda Swami: He gave many instructions here, you might be reading Srimad Bhagavad Gita, you might be hearing Srimad Bhagavad Gita, so I think most of you must have known, what is the message of Krishna in Bhagavad Gita.

O Arjuna, you are very dear to me, I tell you this truth, most confidential instruction, man-manā bhava just think of me, keep me in your mind, mad-bhakto become my bhakta, mad-yājī become my servitor, māṁ namaskuru offer obeisances to me, definitely you will come to me.

Gour Govinda Swami: There are four pillars of sinful activity in Kali Yuga. They are this animal killing, killing innocent animals, eating their flesh,

Gour Govinda Swami: And intoxication, varieties of intoxication, so many types of intoxication, drinking wine, liquor, smoking cigarettes, drinking tea, coffee, so many types of intoxication is there almost all are doing these things.

Gour Govinda Swami: And in this, especially in this western world, it's rampant, it's rampant, almost all do it.

You have one material body, dog has material body, hog has material body, tree has material body, and the mountain has material body, bird has material body, that's all 80 lakhs types of material bodies are there. Gour Govinda Swami: And this material body has demands, demands of material body, there are four demands, eating, sleeping, defending, mating.

Gour Govinda Swami: So those who have material body, they face this, they have these four demands, eating, sleeping, defending, mating.

Gour Govinda Swami: The dog does this, eating, sleeping, defending, mating, hog does. Ah! Even a worm in the stool does so.

Gour Govinda Swami: And you, getting human body, human birth, rarely achieved birth, and placed in a level of superior consciousness, if you do the same thing, if you engage yourself in the same activities, eating, sleeping, defending and mating, then what is the difference between a dog and yourself and between a worm in the stool and yourself?

Gour Govinda Swami: You should understand that this birth is not meant for doing this thing, not to develop only animal propensities, run after this eating, sleeping, defending and mating.

Gour Govinda Swami: The purpose of this birth, human birth, is very, very high purpose, noble purpose it has.

Gour Govinda Swami: You know what is that? Lila avatar. You know. What is that? The purpose of this rarely achieved birth, human birth, is to develop complete Krishna consciousness. Yes.

This is complete Krishna consciousness. One who sees me everywhere, sees everything in me, he is not out of my sight, I am not out of his sight, he sees me, I see him. That means, this birth, human birth, is meant for seeing Krishna everywhere.

The demoniac wants to make a show of religion and advancement in spiritual science, although they do not follow the principles. They are always arrogant or proud in possessing some type of education or so much wealth. They desire to be worshiped by others, and demand respectability, although they do not command respect. Over trifles they become very angry and speak harshly, not gently. They do not know what should be done and what should not be done. They do everything whimsically, according to their own desire, and they do not recognize any authority. These demoniac qualities are taken on by them from the beginning of their bodies in the wombs of their mothers, and as they grow, they manifest all these inauspicious qualities.

This is the Hare Krsna? Māyākīrtana Māyākīrtana.[laughter]. Mahāprabhu gave, Mahāprabhu is so wonderfully munificent. He gives Krsna Prema. Unless you get Krsna Prema, love of Krsna, how your stupid mind think of Krsna, man-manā bhava not possible at all. He gives Krsna Prema through chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, and he gives teaching.

Gour Govinda Swami: So, at the end of Kurukshetra battle, the two friends, Arjuna and Kṛṣṇa, sitting in a chariot, moving. Arjuna, I mean to say, Krsna was driving the chariot, Arjuna was sitting, two friends were talking, joking, laughing. Very nice talks, yes.

Gour Govinda Swami: And the chariot moved slowly on the banks of the Yamuna.

Gour Govinda Swami: Lila Avatar Arjun had developed a pride in him: I directly got such transcendental knowledge from my friend, Krsna. I am great jñāni now, I am great jñāni, yes.

Gour Govinda Swami: So, such pride had developed in heart of Arjuna.

Gour Govinda Swami: Krishna knows everything because He is in the heart. And Krishna very clearly understood Arjuna had developed this pride that he is a great jnani.

Gour Govinda Swami: So, while chariot was moving on the road, Arjuna saw the dead body of a human being was lying there.

Gour Govinda Swami: And one jackal, in Sanskrit it is said, jambuka. Jackal was smelling that dead body and moving around, not eating.

Gour Govinda Swami: Arjuna, seeing this, laughed.

Gour Govinda Swami: And said, this jambuka, this jambuka means jackal. I will use this Sanskrit word, jambuka. This jambuka is murkha, is murkha. No jñān, is bereft of knowledge, murkha.

Gour Govinda Swami: Because you are thinking in, "I am jñāni." Ha. Therefore, said like that.

Gour Govinda Swami: Though this dead body of the human being is my food, still I have some consideration. Without consideration, I won’t eat.”

Gour Govinda Swami: Krishna asked, "You have consideration? What consideration you have?"

Gour Govinda Swami: Jambuka said, "Oh, my Lord, You know everything. Still, when You are asking, I must say."

Gour Govinda Swami: This is my consideration. By smelling, I understand. By smelling the leg of this human body, dead body of human being, I understand whether this person, during his lifetime, has gone to any dham, Vrindavan dham, Mayapur dham, Jagannath Puri dham, and ever he has circumambulated dham with his leg or not.

Gour Govinda Swami: If he has not done so, I would eat such impure food.

Gour Govinda Swami: Smelling his head I can understand whether this person during his lifetime has ever bowed down his head before deities, before Vaishnava, before sadhu or not.

Gour Govinda Swami: "So By smelling his ears I can understand that whether this person during his life time has ever heard Krsna Katha, bhagavat katha from sadhus through his ears or not.

Gour Govinda Swami: So, when jambuka said like that arjuna was hearing he became amazed oh this jambuka has such jnan, he is a great jnani, jambuka is a great jnani, what I was thinking that I was a great jnani. I have no such knowledge. I am murkha. He is jnani."

Gour Govinda Swami: In a very wonderful way, Krishna crushed the pride of Arjuna.

Gour Govinda Swami: And Krishna said, "... jambuka, you are my bhakta. You are jnani. You are bhakta. You are my bhakta."

Gour Govinda Swami: So, this is a story. From this, you can learn. If any devotee coming to this path of devotional service develops pride, Krishna crushes his pride. Yes. That is Krishna's mercy.

Gour Govinda Swami: So, therefore, this is Mahaprabhu teaching. Don't develop pride. Understand this teaching of Mahaprabhu. tṛṇād api su-nīcena taror iva sahiṣṇunā [Śikṣāṣṭakam, Verse 3]. Develop humility. Think yourself much humbler than a blade of grass lying in the street. I'm the lowest of the low. Develop tolerance. Be as tolerant as tree. Don't demand respect. Rather, pay respect to one and all. Developing this mentality, chant Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna, Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Ram, Hare Ram, Ram, Ram, Hare Hare. Definitely, you'll get mercy of Mahaprabhu. Definitely, you'll get the mercy of holy name. You'll chant pure name. Definitely, you'll develop... You'll get Krishna Prema in the very life. Your life, human birth, will be successful.
