Ācāryavān Dās: In the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, there is this pastime of cleansing the Gundica mandir And that has an analogy of cleansing the hear So is there an analogy of the pastimes of Nṛsiṁhadeva killing Hiraṇyakaśipu, for the sādhaka?

Śrī Śrīmad Gour Govinda Swami Mahārāja: Killing Hiranyakaśipu means killing all demoniac attitude, yes. He kills all demoniac attitudes, yes. That is the analogy.

Acāryavān dās: The devotees of Krishna, Krishna within, Krishna in all the avataras, then what is the need for a separate meditation on the form of Nṛsiṁhadeva?Because He specifically kills all demoniac attitudes, Nṛsiṁha form. Therefore this is specific that we offer praṇāma to Nṛsiṁhadeva. Because so many lusty desires we have, we are really demons. We are not devotees at all, we are really demons. So let Him kill all demoniac attitude in us. Yes. And also, material world means it is full of demons. So much enviousness is there, all enviousness. Enviousness, demons are envious; devotees are not envious at all. Nṛsiṁhadeva will kill all these things and make your path of devotion free from all inauspiciousness, all obstacles, yes, all these hindrances. He will make it clear then you can very easily thread the path. This is the special characteristic of Nṛsiṁhadeva. Therefore we offer prayer. Understand?

Sacinandana dās: Gurudeva, in today's class it has been told that Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva first killed the ādidaitya, Hiranyakaśipu. Apart from preaching to Prahlad Mahārāja, Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva has stated that in his previous birth, unconsciously though but still he remained on fast quarrelling with the prostitute as because that is the auspicious appearance day of Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva. That's why.. Strange coincidence…

Sacinandana dās: It is a strange coincidence, Gurudeva, that's why he got the benefit and was born as Prahlad Mahārāja. So that means, Gurudeva, Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva had appeared before also? Yes. He’s kalpa-avatāra. Every kalpa He comes.

Sacinandana dās: Then when Hiranyakaśipu was called ādidaitya then what are the līlā of Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva when He appeared before this?

Śrī Śrīmad Gour Govinda Swami Mahārāja: Because in all kalpas, this līlā, Lord manifests in all kalpas this līlā. Jaya and Vijaya, two demons come and the Lord appears, in all kalpas. It's not only one kalpa. In all kalpas, yes. And another point is there also: Prahlad Mahārāja is His associate. He is His associate, eternal associate. Isn't it? In those are līlās of Nṛsiṁhadeva. How is it that he was born as the son of Vasu Sharma, the younger son of Vasu Sharma who was addicted to prostitute? You understand? And he became Prahlad, who is an eternal associate. This is a most important question. He comes when this līlā comes to any universe, Prahlad is there. His eternal associates will take part in His līlā. Otherwise how the līlā will be manifested without His devotee? That Prahlāda comes as His eternal associate. What is this? This is a most important question and nobody is thinking of this thing. And Nṛsiṁhadeva, this is mentioned in Nṛsiṁha Purāṇ, when Nṛsiṁhadeva told this thing, 'You are this and that and did this and that therefore you got, you developed bhakti so you were born as My devotee as son of Hiranyakaśipu.' That is a fact. This son of Vasu Sharma entered into the body of eternal Prahlād because he fasted, he did, what you say, as a vrata; though not consciously but unconsciously, by a strange coincidence…
