Gour Govinda Swami: "This body is meant for Your service. If You want to [protect] it, protect it, protect. If You want to destroy it, destroy. As You like. It is not my property. It is Your property."
Devotee: "Some devotees argue, you mentioned that we can't do yogic massage because it is not Vaiṣṇava. Why did Prabhupāda accept massage? That's like, not medicine, it is not the holy name, why is massaging okay?"
Gour Govinda Swami: "Massaging Prabhupāda, that is a service of the disciple. He gives some opportunity to serve my body. That's alright. If you don't serve, He'll never die. That's your service! If you never offer food to Kṛṣhṇa, will Kṛṣhṇa die of hunger? That's your service; it is for your benefit. Yes, you should understand that thing." (reads) "I often have to refuse to do service because my body is sick, and I find this very difficult and tend to get completely in anxiety that the devotees will think badly of me. When I was a brahmacārī living in the temple in (??01:26), there was always so much pressure, and I was asked to do a lot of service. If the devotee was sick, they were made to feel that it was māyā, they should transcend the body. How can I get over this problem?" [laughs] "What is this?"
"When you are sick, you take rest. No eating. Now fasting. Take rest, chant more. Kṛṣhṇa gives you an opportunity to chant more. This is service. This chanting is your service. Śravaṇam kīrtanam — is it not service? Navada-bhakti. Bhakti means service. Hearing is a service. Are you not doing service now? Service of the ear. Am I not doing service? Service of the tongue. Yes, so? It is service. One should understand this is also service. Now Kṛṣhṇa has given me the opportunity to chant more. No other service, now chanting service. More chanting and taking rest. No eating, nothing, just chant more. So, nice things. Kṛṣhṇa wants that thing, so He made me fall sick. I accept it in that way. Devotees should accept it in that way. Yes.
If you completely surrender, no problem is there. Kṛṣhṇa will enable you to transcend the bodily conception of life. You are attached to the body. How can you transcend? (laughs) Not by this way. By complete surrender, you can transcend.
What some other bodies say, I don't care for it. Some may say good, some may say bad, that is always there. This material world is always there. I should not care for it. What the guru says, if it pleases guru and Gaurāṅga, then alright. I am Their servant."
